WorkingIndicator

Updated: October 20, 2026

Not released yet. The published package does not include this yet, so it will not install today.

WorkingIndicator shows a LogoSpinner and a verb that changes every few seconds, such as "Imagining…", "Noodling…" or "Kerning…". A light sweep moves across the words. See the web WorkingIndicator for the browser version.

Your own words

verbs replaces the list. Spread workingVerbs to add to it instead. shuffle={false} walks the list in order, and interval sets the milliseconds each verb stays. label shows one fixed line, such as what the assistant is actually doing.

Elapsed time and a hint

showElapsed counts the seconds since the indicator appeared, or since startedAt, so the count survives a remount. detail adds quiet text after it.

Accessibility

The row is one accessible element named by ariaLabel, "Working" by default, so a screen reader hears it once instead of every new verb. With reduce motion turned on, the verbs change without rising in and the sweep turns off.

Differences from the web

  • React Native can't clip a gradient to text, so the sweep colors each letter instead. It looks the same, but very long labels cost more to draw. Pass shimmer={false} for those.
  • loader takes any React Native element, or false for none.
