Timeline

Not released yet. This is on main and is not in any published version yet. It will not install today.

Timeline shows a sequence of steps, such as an order's progress. Each step has a dot coloured by its state, a label, a description and any children. The line between two steps fades from one step's colour to the next. See the web Timeline for the browser version.

Basic usage

marker draws inside the dot, such as a step number. Screen readers hear a list, with the active step selected.

Right-aligned and horizontal

alignment="right" puts the dots on the right. direction="row" lays the steps side by side, which suits three or four short steps on a phone.

Differences from the web

  • The fading line is drawn with react-native-svg, since React Native has no CSS gradients.
  • A string marker gets the label style and the dot's text colour. Pass an element, such as an Icon, for anything else.
  • Steps are list items, and the active one is announced as selected in place of aria-current="step".
