InfoTip is the "what is this?" icon. A tap opens a short explanation beside the icon, kept on screen, and a tap anywhere closes it. It lets a setting explain itself without spending a line on a description. Screen readers hear the explanation as the icon's hint. See the web InfoTip for the browser version.
Put it beside the text it explains. size matches the icon to that text.
ariaLabel names the icon for screen readers. Change it to translate it.
- It opens on press, not on hover or focus. The tip shows in a transparent modal above the screen, so a parent's overflow cannot clip it, and the back button closes it.
- The tip sits below the icon, or above it when the icon is low on the screen, and stays 16 points from the screen edges.
- The explanation is the icon's accessibility hint when it is a string, in place of aria-describedby.
- ariaLabel replaces aria-label.
